I came to the workshop with many expectations but zero experience in painting with acrylic in this style. And I wasn’t disappointed. Olga was methodical in her approach in teaching an art style that features boldness and freedom in expression. We’re recommended to bring some fluro pink paint for this workshop and it’s my first time using this colour, and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw how this colour could actually work well with the rest of the palette. Although initially I was quite intimated by the rest of the participants who are significantly more skilled than I am with their years of experiences in acrylic painting, but after a few hours of relaxing painting following Olga’s coaching and demonstration I could finish an artwork to my satisfaction in this style. I especially like how she invited us to quiet down ourselves from the busyness of our lives at the beginning of the workshop, listening to the birds chirping and the wind blowing outside. This preparation of the mind is helpful for me to get into the mood of creating. After all, what we paint is a reflection of our state of mind. So this preparation helped reset the tone of my mind so I could paint with joy and enjoy the process :) This was such a great workshop! If Olga is holding another workshop in future I will definitely come back!
