Drop spindling is a fun, accessible, and deeply satisfying way to begin your spinning journey or indeed learn another technique with no wheel required!

In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of drop spindling gaining the skills and confidence to spin beautiful yarn at home.

By the end of the session, you’ll leave with your very own hand spun yarn along with an understanding of the spinning process — all with just a spindle and fibre.

This workshop is perfect for absolute beginners. Spindles and fibre will be provided.

  • The park and draft method – A beginner-friendly technique to help you spin with control and consistency.
  • How to spin, ply and finish your yarn, ready to be used in your textile crafts.

  • An Ashford drop spindle.
  • 100 grams of wool fibre.

Your Teacher

Elena is a passionate spinner and knitter. She has been interested in fibre arts since her grandmother taught her to knit as a child. She is fascinated by the history of fibre arts and loves learning new skills and techniques.

If the organiser cancels the class:

You are entitled to a full refund.

If you can't attend the class:

You’re welcome to send someone in your place.

  • A refund can be requested 7 days before class starts. Free of charge.
  • A transfer can be requested 7 days before the class starts. Free of charge.

No changes will be allowed after these times.
