Delicate, geometric, and deeply meditative — Temari balls are an exquisite form of Japanese folk art that blend embroidery, symmetry, and centuries-old tradition. In this hands- on workshop, you’ll learn to create your own hand-embroidered Temari ball from a thread-wrapped base, transforming it into a stunning ornamental piece.
Originating over 1,000 years ago from humble beginnings as children's toys made of fabricscraps and rice husks, Temari has evolved into a sophisticated art form — often gifted to mark special occasions or as symbols of friendship and good luck.
This workshop is perfect for anyone with an interest in learning something new, whether you're into textiles, embroidery, Japanese craft, or simply enjoy meditative handwork. No prior experience is required — just patience and curiosity!
