If you're a wheel spinner or spindler who's been intrigued by support spindles but wasn't sure where to start, this is the class for you.
In this hands-on session you'll be guided through support spindle spinning using the park and draft method, working up to a fluid long draw.
You'll experiment with a variety of spindles and spindle supports, and ways to ply your singles. There will also be a discussion of fibre preparation techniques for support spindling and use of distaffs.

Appropriate for

What to bring
- Wool fibre - roving or top (can be purchased on the day)
- 2 or 3 cardboard toilet or kitchen paper rolls
- (Optional) A lazy kate, support spindle and bowl

She has been a spinner for over 40 years and in the last few years has become enamoured with the rich history and portability of the support spindle. She gets a real joy out of sharing knowledge and seeing people gain new skills.
