Most ONA Coffee barista courses in Sydney require a minimum of 2 participants to proceed. If this minimum is not met, the class will be rescheduled or refunded. The exception is the Sensory Level 1 course, which requires a minimum of 4 participants. Espresso Foundations and Intermediate Latte Art classes have a maximum of 4 people per class.

The Barista Foundations (Level 1) course focuses on three core areas: Extractions, Milk Stretching, and Pouring. These are identified as the primary variables that can make or break a coffee from cup to cup. The course equips you with technical skills to competently operate an espresso machine.

The Barista Essential Skills to Get Your First Job course is a 6-hour extensive two-part workshop. It is taught by Sydney cafe managers Alex Murfet and Jason Gao, who equip students with technical skills to operate an espresso machine and learn cafe workflow alongside coffee extractions and milk steaming/pouring techniques.

Refunds or rescheduling requests made within 48 hours of the class start time will incur an administration fee. This policy applies to most ONA Coffee courses. It is recommended to review the specific Terms and Conditions for each course for detailed information.

The Home Barista Full Day course is an intensive session designed to teach essential skills for making espresso and milk-based coffees at home. It covers the three main areas of focus: Extractions, Milk Stretching, and Pouring. The course also includes guidance on choosing the best coffee for your goals and what preventative maintenance is important for home equipment.

The Espresso Foundations course has a maximum class size of 4 people. This smaller class size is designed for those new to coffee, with limited experience, or barista teams wanting consistency. It allows for plenty of one-on-one time with trainers who observe and guide each participant.
