Top day learning about silks and their purpose, properties and strategies to spin them. Capacity to pursue own silk spinning goals or just join the journey of discovering the multiple silk samples. Plenty to see and hear and loads of fun then with practical time and feedback for us. Total great learning and enjoyable day.

A very informative class spinning various types of silks, with some background into origins and production of silk. Tony certainly demistified preparation for hand spinning silk and touched on dyeing processes. I always thought silk would be too difficult to work with and consequently didn’t want to buy or work with silk fibre. However with Tony’s good humour and wealth of experience he certainly changed my view. It’s so important to have the right instruction or learning process to be able to try out spinning silk. The excitement and confidence to continue naturally flows from there. Even in a full class, Tony managed to give each spinner individual guidance and assistance. Had a lot of fun and received an enormous bonus . . in a room of dedicated, enthusiastic spinners I enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere and interesting questions and answers regarding silk and other hand spinning issues. Tony was very generous with the silk fibre and gave us all plenty to spin after the class. I happily learnt so much from the silk spinning session.
