Description

This is a real “no waste” project. Learn to recycle jeans, linen and doilies into a beautiful coverlet in only three classes!

In the first class students will be planning and cutting their coverlet. In the second class you'll start construction of the background. The third and final class will involve installing all the gathered treasures into the denim. 

Student are required to bring their own sewing machine in good working order with a walking foot, fabric marking pen, a selection of old denim jeans (4 or 5 pairs), doilies, linen and lace pieces to be cut up, rotary cutter, self healing mat, thick templastic, sharp scissors, grey sewing thread, pins - flower head or long quilting pins .

Deb is an internationally awarded textile artist who has been in the sewing game for 30 years. She is a well-known tutor and, having owned her own patchwork shop in the past, has a vast array of knowledge. Deb’s practice ranges from traditional patchwork and quilting to innovative textile art. She is always experimenting with different techniques and products, looking for fun and easy ways to express her art. Deb is currently on a journey of repurposing to not only reduce waste but also make use of her extensive collection of fibre products.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

If for any reason you decide that the workshop you have done or are doing does not suit you, then that is a personal decision and no refund will be given.

If Opendrawer cancels a workshop, you will be given a full refund or can choose a replacement workshop to the same value as the workshop being cancelled. You will be notified at least 2 days before the due date of the workshop if cancellation is necessary due to insufficient enrolments.

Terms & Conditions

A $10 admin fee applies to all changes of date/workshop bookings.

Cancellations made within two weeks of the booked workshop will forfeit 50% of the advertised fee - or you may find a replacement student.

Cancellations made within 24 hours of the workshop will forfeit the full advertised fee - or you may find a replacement student.

A minimum of five people are required for a workshop to run. Opendrawer reserves the right to cancel a workshop if the minimum booking is not achieved. Full refunds will be given or a replacement workshop offered to the same value as the workshop being cancelled. You will be notified at least 2 days before the due date of the workshop if cancellation is deemed necessary. Unfortunately, due to the workshop timetable, no makeup classes are available.
