Description

Create your own mixed media collage while learning how to use creative thinking skills to explore, generate and develop your own creative language.

This workshop offers possibilities for all levels of creative practice, with opportunities for individual explorations under supportive mentoring.

We will investigate basic structure of composition, and

learn to layer different papers and fibres.

Adding acrylic paint, inks, graphite pencils and other medium will further enhance the composition and will add your own personal touch.

What to bring:

  • Apron
  • Name Tag
  • Small found objects
  • A few sheer fabric scraps, printed or plain  (small amount only)
  • Synthetic paintbrushes
  • Graphite pencils
  • Steel ruler
  • Stanley knife
  • Hole puncher (various seizes if you have)         
  • Basic sewing kit including embroidery needles (pointy) and threads (suitable to stitch into paper)
  • Double sided masking tape
  • A variety of papers such as:
    • Newspaper prints and images
    • Copied photos on matt paper
    • Copied personal letters
    • Tissue paper or printed serviettes
    • Handmade paper
    • Textured paper
    • Tea bags
    • Corrugated cardboard
    • Maps and music sheets
  • Watercolour paper ( 300gsm)

Optional:

  • Stencils and rubber stamps
  • Should you wish to do a small series of small canvases (max 50 x 50) please bring your own.
  • Acrylic paint (Including black and white), wax crayons, cutting boards and paper scissors will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer

Since graduating from “Studio Stitch – Art Design and Textiles” at Box Hill Institute in 2005, Brigitte Haldemann has undertaken several projects, group and solo exhibitions and competitions. Over time she has developed her own distinctive style and shares a passion for colour, balance, texture and design. Teaching new skills and sharing new ideas encourages exploring and expands the creative horizon.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

If for any reason you decide that the workshop you have done or are doing does not suit you, then that is a personal decision and no refund will be given.

If Opendrawer cancels a workshop, you will be given a full refund or can choose a replacement workshop to the same value as the workshop being cancelled. You will be notified at least 2 days before the due date of the workshop if cancellation is necessary due to insufficient enrolments.

Terms & Conditions

A $10 admin fee applies to all changes of date/workshop bookings.

Cancellations made within two weeks of the booked workshop will forfeit 50% of the advertised fee - or you may find a replacement student.

Cancellations made within 24 hours of the workshop will forfeit the full advertised fee - or you may find a replacement student.

If for any reason you decide that the workshop you have done or are doing does not suit you, then that is a personal decision and no refund will be given.

A minimum of five people are required for a workshop to run. Opendrawer reserves the right to cancel a workshop if the minimum booking is not achieved. Full refunds will be given or a replacement workshop offered to the same value as the workshop being cancelled. You will be notified at least 2 days before the due date of the workshop if cancellation is deemed necessary. Unfortunately, due to the workshop timetable, no makeup classes are available.
