Knotless Netting

A versatile and adaptable basketry technique

Book Now (https://weteachme.com/l/Mjpmsnxr)

Description

Knotless netting is an ancient basketry technique that forms a mesh without using any knots. It's found in many cultures across the globe. It's versatile enough to make carry bags, amulet bags, and fishing nets, or just to decorate a simple stone or stick.

You'll create and take home a decorated item or small amulet bag. These small bags are designed to be a piece of jewellery rather than a bag but originally amulets carried something sacred or precious. You can make yours large enough to hold a mobile phone or small enough for a secret. Cover a rock with netting and it can become a pendant for a necklace. Or make a Christmas decoration.
