The basics of propogating succulents to use in garden craft will be demonstrated. You will then make the structural support for creating a succulent wreath, learn how to attach and care for the succulents and make a unique piece to take home.

Penny, a local horticulturalist, will share her enthusiasm for working with items from gardens to create beutiful craft and home decor items. This passion is incorporated into sustainability principles with many of the plants propogated directy by Penny from her own and local community gardens.

We will begin with light refreshments as Penny demonstrates the process for constructing your own succulent wreath. We will all then make our own bespoke wreath to take home. Time permitting, a second smaller wreath will also be made. These succulent wreaths make lovely gifts for Christmas.

All materials and tools will be provided, but if you have cuttings you would like to bring along, or a plate of food to share with others, that would be most welcome!

Class Booking Conditions

Bookings are considered final once payment is made, no refunds will be given for nonattendances. However, if at least 7 days notice is given of inability to attend, a transfer to an available class of equivalent value may be organised, with a $10 administration fee applicable.

Class Cancellations

If there are insufficient numbers for a class it may be cancelled or postponed. In this case, you will be notified as soon as possible and given the option of a full refund or a transfer to a class of equivalent value.

The Surrey Hills Neighbourhood Centre Inc (the Centre) was founded in 1978 at the initiative of local residents and was registered as an Incorporated Association in 1996. The Centre is located at 157 Union Road and an adjoining property at 1 Bedford Avenue. All our facilities are leased from the City of Boroondara.

Surrey Hills Neighbourhood Centre was founded in 1978 as a friendly, inclusive and welcoming meeting place where people could come together to share experiences and skills.The Centre offers a wide range of programs and activities run by friendly and knowledgeable teachers, at affordable prices.

The Centre is a overseen by a Committee of Management, and receives funding support from the City of Boroondara, the Department of Planning and Community Development with the remainder of the Centre’s income generated by fees from programs and venue hire.
