Knitting Takes Balls - Part 1

Learning to Knit - Part 1

Book Now (http://weteachme.com/l/byRtKTgr)

Description

Sooo I hear you want to learn to knit - go you!

We'll start at the very beginning because, as we all know it's a very good place to start.

I’ll have a set of needles with yarn cast on and a few rows knitted, all ready for you to sit down and begin to knit from the moment the class begins - this is just for you to practice on, and you can take as long as YOU need to feel comfortable with your knitting before you move on.

When you're ready, we'll take a few minuets to talk about patterns, needle sizes and different yarns and you'll pick your own project (don’t worry, I’ll help steer you in the right direction).  Then after a cuppa, and a bikkie or three, you’re going to pick up your needles and cast on your very own project - and leave with the beginnings of something beautiful, perhaps a scarf or fingerless mitts!

If you choose to take your knitting further - and don't feel you have to, never malign the humble knit stitch, you can make some beautiful garments with just this stitch and an extra skill or two - I’ll have some projects to show you at the end of class made entirely from only the knit stitch.

But, if you’d like to learn to take your knitting further and learn the purl stitch, the skies the limit; all knitted fabric is made from using the knit and purl stitch in various combinations and variations, so use the code you’ll be provided in your introductory pack and get 20% off Learning to Knit - 2 - Adding purl.

Everything's better with a friend, right? So why not bring a buddy and save $10 off your full price ticket!

This class takes place in my home studio.  We have a couple of dogs (both small breeds, calm and settled and can be put outside if you'd prefer) and a rabbit, so if you are allergic please dose yourself with appropriate medication  prior to arriving.  I live in a quiet, little suburban Court, feel free to park along the sides of the street or on our lawn or nature strip, just please don't park across the neighbours driveway!!

Bottomless coffee, tea, soft drink or water and cake will be provided to help the creative process flow!  Weather permitting, you are welcome to take a short stroll along the picturesque walking track that runs along the back of our house to reenergise!!

I am an experienced teacher with endless patience, my classes are held in a fun and supportive environment and there is no such thing as a silly question!

If you feel a little nervous meeting new people (and lets face it, most of us are), you are welcome to arrive 10-15min early, check out my studio, fondle the yarn and make yourself comfortable before the class starts.

Knitting is a thousand year old craft that has influenced countless designers and makers throughout time.   Best of all, the basics of knitting are very simple and easy to master.  We like to encourage knitters, crocheters and yarn lovers in general to write their own stories with wool and other fine materials.

We aim to bring generations closer together and hope to offer a contemporary, inspiring and welcoming experience through every class or workshop we offer.

We believe in building long term customer relationships and truly enjoy being a part of our student’s creative journey offering guidance and encouragement along the way.

Leanne is an experienced teacher and has been knitting and crocheting for many years. Knitting is her love and teaching her passion.  In everything we do we try to represent a positive attitude toward the world, sharing a concern about it’s resources and the way we take care of the planet.

This was a very useful class, I am a self taught knitter, so it was great to learn some new techniques that I can put to use. Leanne was very patient and clear in her instructions . I Look forward to attending more of Leanne's classes
