19 August 2017 • Mindfulness Drop-in Class

It was nice to participate in a few exercises with other people at the session. I enjoyed hearing what they experienced. The facilitators were very nice and supportive. I appreciate that the Mind Room offers a weekly meditation for free. It's a great benefit for the public.

I learned that it was possible to sit in a room and take yourself both outside and inside the self. I found my panic subsiding, my self criticism receding, I felt a connection to an aural mindscape, which seemed both larger and more minute than things I had really noticed before. I felt surrounded by thoughtful, wise and empathetic people which was truly a gift.

Taking the time to stop and pause in the middle of the day offers such value. Guided meditation, open discussion about mindfulness and some colouring in - a wonderful way to spend a midweek lunch break. Highly recommended.
