In this special teen class we will cover all the basics to using a lap loom, simple techniques and tricks for starting out as well as steps for finishing and hanging your woven piece.
You can choose to use a Studio loom for the duration of the class or purchase your own take home loom kit to make a larger weaving and continue this at home.
The class will cover a range of different stitch types, patterns and colours to create your weaving design. We will also look at different weaving styles from artists around the world and how their techniques can provide us with colour and design inspiration. A wide selection of beautiful wools and roving will be available for you to use.
A delicious morning tea and sweet treats will be provided. Please bring your own lunch (or money for cafe next door) and water bottle for the day.
About The Studio Workshops
We offer a unique approach to creative workshops, with an emphasis on fun, accessible and modern crafts for all ages. Our classes are carefully designed to provide participants with an easy introduction to a skill or technique, while still finishing a completed project. Session sizes are kept small, usually no more than 15 participants per session, so we can provide hands on assistance to everyone. Classes are held in our beautiful studio located in Camberwell. Good tunes, good times
A great craft workshop is more than learning a new creative skill and making something yourself. It's about meeting friends, sharing laughs and having a fabulous day out. That's why our kids classes include treats and tunes to keep the creative juices flowing. And for our adult classes, we offer nibbles with tea, coffee, wine or bubbles - whatever takes your fancy.
