Workshop Freo is "Springing" into September and going "troppo!!" The colours and sculptural structure of tropical plants make them the perfect subject matter for a gorgeous lino print of your favourite green friends! In this three-hour workshop, artist, illustrator and surfer Hannah Katarski (aka Mermaid's Coin) will teach you the fundamentals of lino-printing and how to produce them in a quirky, illustrative style. Sun's out fun's out!
In this fun and relaxed class, You will learn how to create a design suitable for a print, and how to use a lino block, brayer and printmaking ink to achieve different effects. Inspired by the textures and shapes of tropical greenery like Monsteras, you will also experiment with contrast, repetition and colour to create a series of works.
About the Teacher:
Hannah is a maker and illustrator who uses printmaking techniques and watercolours to create work that is vibrant, retro and fun. Her work is primarily concerned with capturing the coastal lifestyle of WA. She is a waterbaby to the core and when she's not creating art, you can find her with her toes on the nose of her mal on a wave some place.

There is a PDF document attached to all booking confirmations with a map. Mrs Trivett Place is a sharp left just before Fleet Street. It looks more like a driveway than a road. You will then see our little green building, number 15, tucked beneath the Roundhouse, and overlooking Bather's Beach and the J Shed.
Access is also possible from the back steps behind the J Shed or the footpath behind the Roundhouse. It's a little tucked away and if in doubt, type in 'Workshop Freo' to Google Maps or call 0431774371 for some assistance!
