WEAVING WITH NATURAL AND FOUND MATERIALS
Description
Explore the endless possibilities of creating beautiful baskets and sculptural pieces from plants and reeds that can be found in your garden. Serafina will teach you weaving techniques and help you to explore the possibilities of combining diverse materials to create your own unique works of art. This class is both meditative and exciting as you discover the pleasure of working with natural materials to create objects of beauty.
Suitable for adults and teenagers 14+
What you will learn
- 1) How to make cordage from plants
- 2) How to make a coil basket or placemat
- 3) Explore possibilities for weaving, basket making or art that can be found in the garden

- 3) The inspiration and knowledge to continue to explore the world of basketry and weaving
Street parking or at rear of shops off River Street. Limited accessible parking at rear of YAVA, off Furmston Lane.

Your Teacher
Serafina is a local artist who enjoys working with found, recycled and reused objects and materials in preference to new materials, to create sculptures and basketware.
Serafina explores the plethora of plants and natural materials that can be incorporated into woven pieces and enjoys sharing her skills and knowledge with others.
Cancellations & Refunds
If the organiser cancels the class:
You are entitled to a full refund.
If you can't attend the class:
You’re welcome to send someone in your place.
OR
- A refund can be requested 2 days before class starts. An admin fee of AU$5.00 applies.
- A transfer can be requested 2 days before the class starts. Free of charge.
- A credit note can be requested 2 days before the class starts. Free of charge.
No changes will be allowed after these times.

- Shopping Centre carpark (3 hours)
- Furmston Lane (all day parking)
- River St Carpark (all day parking, access via Green St)
- Taber Lane (all day parking)
- other street parking, just check the signs.
