Mixed Media Portraiture
Description
Join us on a fun, liberating two-day weekend exploring the unbounded world of mixed media portraiture.
Employing several experimental drawing, painting, and collage assemblage techniques, practicing artists Rachael Burke will lead this open, supported studio time, encouraging all mediums to merge, blend and collide.
Looking at contemporary artists and pioneers of the 20th century, such as Hannah Höch, participants will observe the methods, concepts and approach to the medium each artist takes.
Participants will grow in confidence, creating a variety of distinctly unique portraits by using multiple methodologies, cutting, exploring several transferring techniques, collaging onto drawings, and abstracted washes of acrylic ink over photographic portraits.
Suitable for the novice through to the advanced practitioner.
