Description

LARGE GARDEN TOTEM WORKSHOP - GO BIG OR GO HOME!

This is a 3-Day Workshop in total!  Create and build your elements over 2-days, then paint & assemble them on the third day! (1x full weekend 9th & 10th March & 1 x Saturday 6th April  class classes 10am-2:00pm)

Unleash your inner artist and embark on a creative journey at our Advanced Garden Totem Pole Workshop! This workshop is for those who have already attended our Garden Totem workshop or who have some knowledge of hand-building with clay.

In this workshop, you will go BIG! bring your ideas, sketches, and images with you and we will help you achieve your vision! These totems are going to be a feature in any garden & will tell a story that is unique to you. Please take the time to measure the space in which you would like this totem to sit. The finished size is up to you! but we do recommend not going any higher than 2 meters (including buried allowance).

MORE DETAILS.....

Day 1 (Saturday 9th March) 10-2pm. Bring your own LUNCH.

Planning & Starting your totem elements. You will use various hand-building techniques necessary to create each piece for your totem. You will then shape, carve, and or texture each piece using our tools, stamps & rollers provided.

Day 2 (Sunday 10th March) 10-2 pm. Bring your own LUNCH.

Continuing on from Saturday. You will spend the day finishing off any elements that will need to be completed before drying & firing your pieces.

Day 3 (Saturday 6th April) 10-2pm. Bring your own LUNCH.

PAINTING! Your Totem pieces will have been fired to make them durable and ready for you to apply layers of colour to bring your Totem to life! We use acrylic paint that is durable and able to withstand being in a hot & steamy QLD garden for many years without fading etc.

This workshop is a blend of creativity, relaxation, and artistic growth. Whether you have a specific idea in mind or are open to our guidance, you'll leave with a stunning garden totem pole that adds a touch of artistry to your outdoor space. Join us for a memorable experience and create lasting memories with your friend in our inspiring studio. Reserve your spot now, and let your artistic spirit flourish!

NOTE: Poles and bases are available to purchase from the studio - POA & are NOT included in the cost of the workshop. You are welcome to source your own pole and base plate yourself - just be sure to know the diameter of your pole before the workshop so you can ensure the hole you create will fit the rod after firing. Otherwise, speak to us and we will supply a rod & base plate for an additional cost to you, which you can cut to your required size at home. (The studio will not CUT rods, you will need to do this yourself).

Your Teacher

Nicole Schnitzerling is a qualified Secondary Teacher with 18 years of experience in Queensland and Tasmania. She is passionate at encouraging students to explore new experiences and discover their creative abilities.  She has been working with clay for over 10 years.

For Nicole, it all started when she attended a class for something to do and found a passion and talent she didn’t know she possessed. She loves creating large sculptures, often of animals and is often surprised when each piece develops its own personality and unique expression. We love her creations and hope you do too.
