6 Week Beginners Wheel Throwing Course
Description
In this engaging and hands-on wheel throwing course, you'll discover the core skills of ceramics over a six-week period. Designed for beginners and those eager to delve deeper into the world of pottery, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to learn the art of wheel throwing.
Throughout the course, you'll be guided through the following step-by-step techniques allowing you to create a range of beautiful pottery pieces:
Week 1: Basic cylinder shapes, wedging, centring the clay on the wheel
Week 2: Bowls and clay recycling
Week 3: Mugs, clay theory, quirky shapes
Week 4: Vases and making with intention
Week 5: Trimming + attaching handles
Week 6: Glazing!
Our small class sizes and one-on-one feedback mean you'll receive plenty of individual attention and guidance. We understand that starting something new can be daunting, so rest assured that our warm and uplifting environment will put you at ease.
During each two-hour session, you'll be provided with your own bag of clay, apron, tools, and, most importantly, a pottery wheel to work on. By immersing yourself in this hands-on experience, you'll not only learn the art of wheel throwing, but you'll also ignite your creative flow and gain confidence in your abilities.
At the end of the course, you'll have a newfound skill under your belt and a collection of beautiful pottery pieces to take home. Join us on this transformative journey and uncover the joy of wheel throwing.

Directly out the front is only 1 hour parking but there is plenty of free parking all around. Also make sure you go to the Pascoe Vale South address as Google maps brings up Brunswick first!

Sunroom Studio offers workshops such as pottery: wheel throwing & hand building, painting, floristry and life drawing.
Cancellations & Refunds
If the organiser cancels the class:
You are entitled to a full refund.
If you can't attend the class:
You’re welcome to send someone in your place.
OR
- A refund can be requested 3 days before class starts. Free of charge.
- A transfer can be requested 1 day before the class starts. Free of charge.
No changes will be allowed after these times.

Anyone partaking in any classes or coming to any events at The Sunroom or organised by The Sunroom must agree to these terms and conditions.
