Ikebana workshop at the nursery
Description
Ikebana is an ancient Japanese art form that celebrates the beauty of nature by uncovering the unique personality of each flower and allowing it to shine in a harmonious arrangement.
This workshop highlights the charm of garden flowers—their natural movement, texture, and subtle seasonal colour changes—qualities that set them apart from florist-sourced blooms. Through ikebana, you’ll discover another way to enjoy your garden, blending the essence of the outdoors with indoor spaces.
With its meditative qualities, ikebana offers a calming and mindful practice, much like gardening. You’ll deepen your connection with flowers and uncover the meaningful bond between yourself and nature. Join us for a creative journey that celebrates the subtle beauty of every season.
By visiting the grower directly we are able to utilise this unique flower – a rare treat!
Antique Perennials is a nursery based in Kinglake, specialising in rare and unusual perennials, including shade loving woodlanders, bulbs, prairie plants and other hardy perennials. Owners Matt Reed and Michael Morant spent years collecting and importing plants from many locations throughout the world.
Many of their plants are recent introductions and are only available from Antique Perennials Nursery. The plants are available year round from some of the best retail nurseries in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, Southern Queensland and Tasmania. The owners of the nursery will give you a tour and the opportunity to see these rare plants up close. In a relaxed and open group discussion you will have the opportunity to chat with Azumi and Michael as they share their passion and love of plants.
