Captured Movement
Description
This unique life drawing workshop offers participants a rare opportunity to capture the essence of dance, by attending a rehearsal by Atamira Dance Company for one of their upcoming performances.
Observe, study and translate to paper the graceful shapes and physical expression of a professional dance corp as their various states of motion serve as inspiration for our artistic creations.
Guided by drawing tutor Rachael Burke, we'll explore the subtlety of stillness; the tranquillity of slow meditative movement; the dynamics of duets and relationships; and the energy of fast-paced phrases, providing participants a truly rich and inspiring drawing experience.
This collaborative workshop will provide both parties with an energetic exchange, creating community engagement with Atamira's creative process and a dynamic synergy between movement and art.
The two-hour drawing workshop will be followed by a chance to wind down together over shared kai after the dance rehearsal.
