Fabulous visible mending course. The teacher was really prepared and she had a book of all the techniques to show us. She also had a vast range of threads and materials for us to use. It was simply amazing. I would recommend it to anyone.

This hands on workshop exceeded my expectations. The warmth and generosity of Tamara and Janine made me feel I really can do this. I haven't picked up embroidery thread and needle for decades but I love colours and fabric. I prefer hand sewing to machine sewing and my feeling of confidence in being able to add life of treasured but a little dilapidated clothing has soared. I'm never comfortable with disposing of things, and seeing them become something new rather than a patch up of something old, is really energizing. There was plenty of time and attention for the most basic of skills, and instruction on the practicalities of more complex designs. Thank you so much. Karen.

CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) RESPONSE

The Guild of Objects has put together an action plan to mitigate the risks from coronavirus (Covid-19).

The Guild of Objects acknowledges the health risks of people gathering together but sees events such as workshops are a vital part of our community and can continue to be a place of safety and enjoyment if everyone plays their part.

The objective of the Guild is to support Artists, Makers and Craftspeople and as such our workshops provide financial support for the artists who work with us.

At all our events we will be putting in place additional hygiene measures in order to help minimise the possibility of contamination. This will include hand washing facilities and an increase in the frequency of cleaning of shared spaces.

We have limited the number of participants at each workshop to 12 as this will ensure that we can maintain the recommended social distance between participants.

If you are ill or have been placed into home isolation the Guild will allow you to transfer into a later workshop or if you give us 48 hours’ notice we will provide a refund.

While we have put hygiene measures and increased our efforts to minimise contamination, attendance at our workshops is at your own risk.

We value your continued support in helping keep the Guild going during these difficult times.

Please remember that our online store remains open and will work tirelessly to ensure that there are no delays in dispatching your orders.

We will continue to update and change our policy as more information is known. Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support.
