Oxart Taradale - Wednesday Weekly Pottery Classes
(+17 more dates)
Description
* It is recommended for 'first timers' to do an introductory class prior to regular weekly classes. (unless by prior arrangement)
About this experience
Our weekly classes provide an enthusiastic environment for exploring your creativity with clay. Learn pottery wheel throwing techniques, the mastering of hand building and the joy of sculpture. The class is not structured to deliver particular outcomes; more to support your creative development and confidence with the medium. You will learn clay preparation through to decorating, glazing and firing techniques. All materials and firing are included in the cost of the lessons.
Your Host
Your teacher for this class will be Jason Barnes. Jason like Ox, has come from achieving a Bachelor Degree with Honours in Ceramics at Latrobe Uni in Bendigo and was introduced to us at Oxart by a respected and now retired lecturer of them both. Jason also has collected a Masters in Visual Arts and a teaching graduate diploma, so is well qualified to ask any question of and will definitely help you on your journey of pottery addiction!
Jason's love of all thing ceramic has seen him exhibit in many galleries and award exhibitions and teach at numerous secondary colleges all whilst managing his own studio and pottery business. We hope that you enjoy his company as much as we do!
