PRIVATE CERAMIC THROW CLASS

Have you always wanted to try your hand at the pottery wheel and make a creation to use at home? This casual one-off class is just for you.

Our skilful ceramic teachers will definitely make this a fun and relaxing event for you!  You will be shown how to use the pottery wheel, and receive a thorough lesson on the throwing process with expert tuition on making a vessel or two for you to glaze... all in one fun-filled class!

Students can choose two pieces to be glazed and fired by the teacher. Additional pieces cost $10 each per student.

PLEASE NOTE when booking a class with MakerSpace &company you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

Student age

MakerSpace is an 18+ facility, and our classes and facilities are designed for adults.

The reality is that MakerSpace is simply not set up to accommodate children. For further information please click here:  http://makerspace.org.au/book-classes/faq/

Disabled access

Unfortunately our new space cannot offer suitable wheelchair access. We are currently working on improving our facilities to make them accessible for all.

Parking

We have very limited parking spaces on Gerald Street so if you're driving here please allow time to look for parking on our street or nearby streets.

Students must wear covered shoes, have long hair tied back and wear appropriate safety gear when using equipment.  All students will be shown how to use appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment).

MakerSpace &company and its tutors will provide training in how to use all equipment and relevant machinery and tools to students during the course.  It is essential that no equipment or machinery be used while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

While all care will be taken, it is the responsibility of the student to follow all instructions and use all the equipment in a safe and responsible manner.

27 April 2021Private Ceramic throw class
EJ was an absolute legend of a teacher and host of MakerSpace. I did a private class with 7 friends to celebrate a mates baby shower. I cant think of a more enjoyable and creative activity or a better teacher for the occasion. I am not a creative person and I have never worked with clay or wheels before but EJ made us all feel so welcome in the space and could show us tips and tricks in the space of 5 -15 minutes. The class was two hours long so EJ had us stuck in and working on shapes and pots within the first twenty minutes. We all had the opportunity to make several pieces, some better then others! But the energy in the space, the afternoon light, the disco ball and tunes was perfect! Thank you so much EJ for such a cool and entertaining ceramics class! EJ goes above and beyond for her guests, she was friendly, instructive, funny and kind. BOOK A CLASS WITH EJ!
