THE BEGINNINGS OF MACRAMÉ
Description
Over the course of this weekend workshop, you will be introduced to the basics of macramé and its ancient origins and cultural history. You’ll be guided step by step as Romina shares with you her knowledge, knotting your own explorations and finished pieces ranging from textured wall art to hanging planters, pot, or hat holders.
Engage in meaningful discussion around definitions of art and utility, cultural appropriation, and mindful making. Take a closer look into Aotearoa’s natural environment, incorporating native and regional flora, experimenting with the addition of feathers, beads and hand dying of your macramé cords.
