Storytelling Stamps
Description
Storytelling is a strong component of every culture, with art and body adornment central to sharing our human experience.
Led by Sur-Collective visual artist Juliana Durán, during this one-day workshop we’ll produce a unique wearable pendant depicting an idea or story that is special to us.
Beginning by developing images, symbols and designs that represent meaning or tell a story, once we settle on our favourite drawings we will learn how to a carve small-scale lino stamps and have some fun with printing them onto paper with water-based inks.
Then, preparing a small ball of clay, we’ll imprint our favourite stamp into the clay, making a beautiful personal pendant that can be worn, or hung as a necklace or decoration!
Allow 2-3 weeks for firing, before returning to collect your finished creation.
