Description
Practicing artist Rachael Burke guides this fun two-day workshop looking at the works of contemporary artist Njideka Akunyili Crosby to examine the liberating methods, concepts and approach the artist takes.
In composing your works, you will combine drawing, painting, exploring several transferring techniques, and collage assemblage techniques. Mixing photographs from personal archives* with images from newspapers, magazines and books, participants will create several distinctly unique works that capture moments and memories that shape our lives.
Suitable for the novice through to the advanced practitioner. Let curiosity and play be your guide.
*Bring along several personal photographs, and found materials that relate to your images eg. swatches of fabric, ticket stubs, jewellery, a shell, written word etc.

The Corban Estate Arts Centre is located in Henderson, West Auckland.
We’re home to artist studios, our very own cafe, art classes for adults, youth and children, and an ever-changing programme of exhibitions and events.
Set within park-like grounds amongst historic winery buildings. Open Monday to Saturday, entry is free, everybody’s welcome.

- A deposit is required to secure your place and payment must be made in full to confirm your booking.
- Cancellation by Corban Estate Arts Centre entitles the participant to a FULL REFUND.
- Cancellation by participant up until 7 days before the workshop commences results in a transfer where possible OR full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 10% admin & booking fee.
- Cancellation by participant within 7 days of the workshop commencement date results in a transfer where possible OR full credit to be used within 6 months of cancellation date OR a full refund MINUS a 30% admin & booking fee.
- Cancellation by participant on or after the workshop commencement date results in NO refund given.
