Description
Little Wood's open studio sessions are not a class, but are for those who have completed a pottery wheel/hand building class at Little Woods or have previous experience with:
- using a pottery wheel/ hand building techniques,
- trimming, and
- glazing

This time will be a chance to play, experiment and practice your pottery skills. These are self-directed sessions, however there will be a staff member on site who knows how the space runs and can answer basic questions.
The fee includes:
5 hours self-directed access to Little Woods Studio per session, from 10:30am-3:30pm
Use of one pottery wheel, and/ or bench space for hand-building
Space to store greenware (2 weeks) and bisqueware (4 weeks)
- Clay, underglazes and glazes are supplied. No external clay or glazes please
- Pottery tools
- Access to kilns (firing is charged at $12 per kilo, payable prior to final glaze firing)
- Kitchen facilities, including kettle, water purifier and microwave
Conditions of Studio Use:
On your first session, you will be given a brief induction to the studio.
Your work area, all tools and equipment must be thoroughly cleaned after use.
No external clay, glazes or dry materials to be brought into the studio. Little Woods supplies clay and glazes.
Kids aged 12-15 can book in on the condition that an accompanying adult is present.
Be respectful of your fellow studio participants and staff. Open studio participants are not permitted to teach other open studio participants.
Safety first: No dry sanding. Closed shoes must be worn at all times. No entry to kiln.
Refunds or changes: For any changes or refunds, we require a minimum of 7 days' notice.
No shows: Missed sessions are forfeited and cannot be made up.
Little Woods initiated cancellations: Though rare, if we need to cancel an open studio session, we'll offer refunds, credits, or transfer to another date.
All profits from our workshops or open studio sessions, support the work and programs of Jesuit Social Services.

Closed toe shoes only. Please wear comfortable clothing that can get messy.

Located near Gertrude Street, Little Woods Studios is a small, not-for-profit pottery studio supporting the work of Jesuit Social Services.
Little Woods Studio is the open-to-the-public offshoot of the Artful Dodgers Studios, a not-for-profit art and music space providing holistic support for young people living under challenging circumstances. All profits from workshops held at Little Woods go towards helping fund Artful Dodgers Studios.

Cancellations & Refunds
If the organiser cancels the class:
You are entitled to a full refund.
If you can't attend the class:
You’re welcome to send someone in your place.
OR
- A refund can be requested 14 days before class starts. An admin fee of AU$10.00 applies.
- A transfer can be requested 14 days before the class starts. An admin fee of AU$10.00 applies.
No changes will be allowed after these times.

Terms & Conditions
We require 2 week notice in writing (email) prior to the class commencing for a full refund or transfer. In the event that a class is cancelled, students will be notified via text message or email and will be given a full refund. No shows will not be refunded. As we are a not for profit, any transfer of classes will incur a $10 fee to cover admin staff time.
