Ease into your weekend and unwind with clay.
Join Little Woods Studio for our hands-on beginner-friendly clay hand-building workshop and learn to make your own unique vessels!
Limited to 8 participants, our classes are smaller than most. Plus, we offer the additional value of a 2.5 hour class where you will be taught the foundation skills to explore hand building techniques that will allow you to create your own ceramic art. You will be encouraged to explore your own creativity in a welcoming environment.
Using techniques such as pinching, coiling and joining, you will be able to create a functional pieces that will be glazed and fired after you've finished. We do not limit the number of pieces you make in class.
Why not kickstart your next creative obsession and gain the confidence to continue on your hand building journey in our open studio sessions. This workshop aims to help people to connect to their creativity and to play, all while having fun getting messy with clay- you can also use your new skill set to create mugs, vases and bowls too!
Book solo or book in as a group! Private classes are available on request.
Important Information:
- Works created during the class will need to be dried, fired and glazed, with pick-up available 3-4 weeks later.
- If you cannot attend, please refer to the cancellations info in this listing. As a not-for-profit, any transfer of classes will incur a $10 fee to cover administrative costs.
All profits from workshops held at Little Woods go towards helping fund the programs of Jesuit Social Services.

About us
Located near Gertrude Street, Little Woods Studios is a small, not-for-profit pottery studio supporting the work of Jesuit Social Services.
Little Woods Studio is the open-to-the-public offshoot of the Artful Dodgers Studios, a not-for-profit art and music space providing holistic support for young people living under challenging circumstances. All profits from workshops held at Little Woods go towards helping fund Artful Dodgers Studios.
We are a welcoming and inclusive creative hub whose aim is to nurture both the flourishing of individual creative passions and the growth of a connected community.
Cancellations & Refunds
If the organiser cancels the class:
You are entitled to a full refund.
If you can't attend the class:
You’re welcome to send someone in your place.
OR
- A refund can be requested 14 days before class starts. An admin fee of AU$10.00 applies.
- A transfer can be requested 14 days before the class starts. An admin fee of AU$10.00 applies.
No changes will be allowed after these times.
We recommend the refund upgrade option upon checkout in case you’re not able to attend the class. Learn more about refund upgrade option.
Terms & Conditions
We require 2 week notice in writing (email) prior to the class commencing for a full refund or transfer. In the event that a class is cancelled, students will be notified via text message or email and will be given a full refund. No shows will not be refunded. As we are a not for profit, any transfer of classes will incur a $10 fee to cover admin staff time.
