Matokie Clay Studio is a home based ceramics studio in West Preston hosted by ceramicist Felicity Law. Matokie Clay Studio hosts regular classes and workshops.
Paperclay Exploits is a participatory workshop where paperclay will be made using toilet paper and different clay bodies including porcelain and terracotta. Construction of large complex forms using paperclay will be demonstrated, as will methods of using paperclay including joining wet to dry clay.
This workshop will be limited to 10 participants, everyone welcome from beginners to experienced ceramicists. Workshop cost will include materials.

Note that making paperclay is a messy business
All welcome, beginners and experienced ceramicists. Under 18 year olds will need to enrol with a supervising adult
Any work produced in this workshop will be fired by Felicity and glazed in your choice of glaze. Fired work will be charged at $9 per kilo

Matokie Clay Studio is a home based, creative and welcoming ceramics studio in West Preston hosted by Felicity Law. Felicity is a Melbourne based contemporary ceramicist , arts educator and musician who for the past three years has studied with the wonderful Shane Kent from SOCA (School of Clay and Art). Felicity remains engaged with SOCA’s studio program. Felicity has established Matokie Clay Studio where she teaches ceramic arts to people of all ages and abilities. Felicity provides technical and mentoring support to Melbourne based visual artists wishing to gain skills in ceramics and expand their arts practice.
