Penny was very knowledgeable. However I think she forgot which class she was taking as we were all very new to our cameras. And on talking to the other class members it was very over our heads and I walked away felling more scared about turning off auto. I thought we would see more laneways than one and arcades 2 blocks isn’t much of a city experience. Penny needs to understand how to teach classes not tell us what we are doing wrong in a dogmatic way. Teaching is an artform.

Hi Dian,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am very sorry to hear you were disappointed. This course is designed to get off auto and make the most of the manual settings by matching locations to practise without having to waste time walking from location to location. I have had 2 of the students email me and say they loved the course and have already re-booked into another class. I feel terrible you felt I was dogmatic, this was not my intention and I am sorry if you felt I was. As you missed some of the course I did try my best to catch you up and I know you had a different camera than you wanted as you had trouble charging your favoured camera. I've been running these classes over 10 years very successfully and am very sad to hear you were left feeling confused. I'd be happy to give you a free private 1 hour lesson if you like to help you understand the settings on your camera better.

What a fun and informative half day workshop. Penny was very patient and knowledgeable. I am feeling far more confident about my camera and about the future photos I'll be taking. I would certainly recommend doing one of Penny's classes.

Well organised and paced course to assist people with their knowledge regarding use of digital cameras. Good practical advice and a relaxed atmosphere to practice some of the tips and and other things that were learned during the course. I'd highly rate this course for anyone looking to build their knowledge and general confidence about using a camera and then taking some better photos. It's certainly helping me enjoy taking photos as well as satisfying the creative aspect!
