Welcome to our Highland Cow Clay Sculptural Workshop, where artistry meets the charm of the Scottish Highlands! The Highland cow, known for its iconic shaggy coat and majestic presence, serves as both muse and medium in this immersive artistic experience.
Before delving into the hands-on creation process, let's explore the essence of the Highland cow. With their distinctive long, flowing hair and impressive curved horns, Highland cows embody a rustic elegance that captures the imagination of many. These gentle giants are not only a symbol of resilience but also evoke a sense of nostalgia for the rugged landscapes they call home.
Now, imagine spending a day immersed in the art of sculpting as you craft your own beautiful and majestic Highland cow alongside us. Our experienced instructors will guide you through each step, showing you in detail how to shape the body, mold the head, fashion the characteristic horns, and most importantly, capture the essence of the long-flowing hair that is the hallmark of a Highland cow.
This workshop is conducted in conjunction with The Samford Arts Trail which will be held from 1st June - 23rd June 2024, which is a celebration of creativity and community spirit. The Samford Potters Collective is a new custom-built pottery studio located just 25 km from the heart of Brisbane city and sits in the beautiful green hills of Camp Mountain (Samford).
We believe that pottery is a timeless craft that can be enjoyed by all. We offer a variety of workshops, weekly classes, and wheel classes for beginner to advanced levels, private events, and more. Our full-service pottery studio has everything you need to get started on your pottery journey.
We are passionate about creating a welcoming and inspiring environment for our students and members. Our team of experienced potters and instructors are always on hand to provide guidance and advice every step of the way.

This workshop will be taught by the founders of Samford Potters Collective - Maggie & Desiree. Both have extensive experience with all things clay!

If you can't attend the class:
You’re welcome to send someone in your place.

- A credit note can be requested 3 days before the class starts. Free of charge.
