Description

This class is suited to anyone interested in trying the pottery wheel for the first time.

Have you ever wanted to feel what it’s like to be on a pottery wheel? Perhaps you are interested in joining a term class but want to see if you like it before making the commitment? Then this class is for you. Bring a friend or come on your own to experience the joy of being on the wheel, learning to create and have some FUN!

You will be guided by one of our expert tutors. They are Sarah Schembri, Cassie Lynch, and Georgia Boulton.


Students can select 2 items to be fired and glazed (this is included in the class cost)  

*additional items can be kept at $12 (includes GST) per item, payable on the day. 

An email will be sent when items are ready to collect, approximately 3-4 weeks time. 


Duration: 2 hours

Experience: No experience required

Bring: An apron and towel

Wear: Clothes that can get dirty – this class is hands on. Closed shoes are essential

Children: Yes – over the age of 8 years (if accompanied by an adult)

Collection of work: Students will be emailed when their work is ready for collection (all work must be collected within 2 weeks)

Cost: *$90 / person (Please read the terms and conditions for this class prior to booking)


* A maximum number of 13 people per class.

* A minimum of 6 people required for workshop to go ahead. Class will be cancelled and students transferred to new date if numbers not received. 

* This class can be booked as a private workshop.

* Private/Corporate Bookings can be made during the week.

Please also note, that if you are driving you cannot park on Kent St as it’s permit only, try St David St or Moor St.

Beginners wheel throwing class was a fantastic experience and well taught class run by Cassie! We were taught a lot of good tips and tricks and humbled very quickly as pottery is very deceiving on the wheel but still managed to make some beautiful pieces. Highly recommend!!

Such a fun class, great friendly instructor. It was perfect for our first time with pottery! Good class size and can't wait to pick our pieces in a couple of weeks.

Cancellations & Refunds

If the organiser cancels the class:

You are entitled to a full refund.

If you can't attend the class:

You’re welcome to send someone in your place.

OR

  • A refund can be requested 14 days before class starts. Free of charge.
  • A transfer can be requested 7 days before the class starts. Free of charge.
  • A credit note can be requested 14 days before the class starts. Free of charge.

No changes will be allowed after these times.

We recommend the refund upgrade option upon checkout in case you’re not able to attend the class. Learn more about refund upgrade option.

Terms & Conditions

Additional Terms for 1-day workshops:

  • For transfers within 7 – 2 days of a 1-day workshop, there will be an admin fee of $20/person. 
  • No transfers or refunds within 48 hours of a 1-day workshop.
