Description

Wheel and Unwind Lite is a great opportunity to explore your creativity! Learn how to use a pottery wheel in a relaxed, social, studio environment. Make new friends (or bring some!) and make your own creations whilst unwinding with a delicious grazing board. A complimentary glass of wine is offered on arrival. Soft drinks, kombucha and sparkling water provided. 

At the end of class students can keep 2 items to have fired and glazed by the studio. Work will be glazed in a colour of choice and fired (this process takes approximately 3-4 weeks).

• Apron & towels for use during class
• Clay & tools
• Graze board


What to Expect 

Register first 10-15 minutes, have a glass of wine or sparking water on arrival, enjoy the delicious graze table.

Sarah gives a demonstration. 

There are 14 wheels in the Studio and this class is capped at 14 students, so everyone gets a wheel for the duration of the workshop and everyone receives as much or as little help by SSC Staff. 


Duration: 2 hours in total inclusive of registering.

Experience: No experience required.

When: Friday evenings and possibly Saturdays.

Wear: Clothes that can get dirty – this class is hands on. Closed shoes are essential.

Collection of work: Students will be emailed when their work is ready for collection (can take up to 3-4 weeks, and all work must be collected within 2 weeks of notification).

Cost: $99 per person


*Non alcoholic beverages, Kombucha, Soft drinks, gluten free, vegetarian & vegan food options offered. We do our best to accommodate food intolerances where possible, however due to the variety of food available, we are unable to guarantee that no allergens will be present.


*Extra pieces of work may be kept at an additional cost of $12 per item, payable on the day. EFT facilities.

The studio has 2 medical grade air purifiers, InovaAir DV20, designed for use in clinical environments, primarily for the removal of aerosol-based viral and bacterial contaminants.

Your Teacher

Sarah has been working with clay for over 20 years, full time as a teacher and potter for 12 years. Sarah originally started her career within the corporate world, soon discovering pottery as an after-hours passion, exploring her creativity. She found that ‘throwing’ pottery on a wheel gave her great satisfaction and relaxation. After some time, Sarah made the decision to shift her professional career from an office life ~ to pursue her passion for pottery and tableware.


Sarah worked and studied Ceramics at Ballarat University, where she developed her bold – yet incredibly organic style.

Sarah has been truly humbled by her successful career as a full-time artist and now wishes to teach others and provide an enjoyable, relaxed environment to learn and create.

Cancellations & Refunds

If the organiser cancels the class:

You are entitled to a full refund.

If you can't attend the class:

You’re welcome to send someone in your place.

OR

  • A refund can be requested 14 days before class starts. Free of charge.
  • A transfer can be requested 7 days before the class starts. Free of charge.
  • A credit note can be requested 14 days before the class starts. Free of charge.

No changes will be allowed after these times.

Additional Terms for 1-day workshops:

  • For transfers within 7 – 2 days of a 1-day workshop, there will be an admin fee of $20/person.
