Description
The initial three hours will go towards making a pattern, so if you are only interested in the pattern-making part of this class, we recommend booking one session, 3 hours.
For those who would like to advance to the sewing stages of their pattern, you may want to consider booking multiple sessions from the booking calendar for a discounted rate.
This class is suitable for beginners who have no previous pattern drafting or sewing experience.
What you will learn
- Learn how to draft your own pattern from a garment you already own
- Be guided through the process step-by-step by a highly experienced seamstress who will teach you best practices, ensuring you are developing good habits from the beginning.
- Learn all about the symbols, coloured lines and words in each pattern. Advance to the sewing stages with the same teacher and learn how to construct your garment

Parking
Parking in Redfern has become difficult with more people working from home. As your class is expected to run for three hours, please do not park in a 1P or 2P space, we are unable to pause the class for participants to move their cars as it impacts on the schedule for the day. Below you will find some recommendations on where to park.
Monday - Friday Parking
Phillip St - unrestricted Parking
Raglan St - unrestricted Parking
Cope St - Certain sections have unrestricted parking
Regent St right outside the shop is 1P until 6pm and unrestricted thereafter
Saturday
Regent St, right outside our shop is 1P until 12pm, unrestricted thereafter
Sundays
Regent St, right outside our shop is unrestricted on Sundays, and unrestricted after 6pm Mon-Fri
What to bring
- Fabric and some haberdashery items will need to be supplied if you are advancing to the sewing stages. No fabric will be required for the first class.
- You are welcome to bring your own sewing machine to this class

Our story began in 2018 in a small Redfern studio. With only one desk and one sewing machine, our first class was published and we haven't looked back. Our passion for the arts coupled with bringing people together, brought our vision of launching a creative hub to life.
In our modern world, everything moves quickly, we have adapted to a fast-paced environment and sometimes it can be hard to slow ourselves down. Sydney Creative is a place for people to relax, regroup and find a creative outlet that will hopefully aid in bringing people a sense of achievement, fulfilment and joy.
Today, our classes run from our shop at 126 Regent St, Redfern. Our Classes bring people together, often in a circle around a table, whether it's for a sewing class, jewellery making or crafting, there's something special about being creative in a group together.

• Rescheduling with more than 7 days notice will incur no additional charges
• Rescheduling with less than 7 days notice will result in 100% loss of booking unless we are able to find someone to fill your spot.

Minimum Numbers
This class requires a minimum of three participants to go ahead. In the event minimum numbers are not reached, we will contact you with alternative dates to reschedule your booking.

Covid–19 Policy
Our classes will go ahead as planned unless we are required by the government to close our studio. If we are required to close, we will be in touch to reschedule your session with as much notice as possible.
