Description

Azumi is an expert florist who has worked across the world in Japan, Europe and Australia. In this workshop, Azumi demonstrates how to make kokedama, or Japanese moss balls. Azumi will explain this style of bonsai and the art of creating living designs, which closely resemble forms found in nature. You will have the option to make your kokedama within a ceramic tray or suspended from string, with the plant growing from the structure of a moss ball.

All workshops are held at By Azumi floral studio in South Yarra. They are designed for small groups.

You will learn the basics of kokedama in a relaxed and inspiring space, providing you with the knowledge and skills to continue designing and making at home. The workshops are perfect for both beginners and intermediate students, who have attended other floristry or plant care classes and are looking to further their experience in the field.

Fantastic workshop! Azumi is such a lovely and patient teacher who makes everyone feel comfortable, especially for a beginner like me who hasn't done any gardening/flower arrangement course before. The small class means it's more intimate and we all have a lovely time together. I highly recommend signing up for this workshop - you get 2 hours of peace and joy out of it!

Thank you Azumi for your kindness and creativity. My daughter and I had a beautiful experience and love the earthy tactile experience. We have proudly displayed our Kokedama in our home. Thank you for your kind personal approach.

I have attended both the 4 Week Floristry for Beginners and the Kokedama workshop. Azumi is very kind and patient and makes everything very easy to understand. I always leave feeling like I’ve learned a lot and gained new skills that I can and have used at home. I’m looking forward to my next workshop with Azumi already!
