Have you ever wondered why your photographs appear too dark or too bright in automatic mode? This is because your camera is “metering” the light without understanding what YOU want to do with the photograph. It makes a mathematic calculation and acts on that. On our photography courses in Melbourne you’ll learn about finding the best light and how to control it so you can see how it changes the look of your images. No more blurry photographs or missing that gorgeous sunset. More importantly, you’ll learn how to use your digital camera in manual mode. Over time we’ve refined our manual mode teaching philosophy again and again. In fact its simplicity is something we’re quite proud of. You’ll learn about shutter speed, aperture, ISO and controlling the light with your camera. Our photography courses in Melbourne are constantly evolving as we discover new hidden photographic hot spots in Melbourne, join us and capture your own unique photographs!

I attended the Travel & Street Photography course last week with Daniel. We had a really nice small group and Daniel was great. I’ve had an SLR for years but have always resorted to auto mode, I can now finally understand the basics to finally be brave enough to use ‘manual’. I’d highly recommend for beginners or anyone scared of using manual mode!

At a recent party, a relative took a group shot using my camera. Before taking it, he flipped to manual mode and quickly selected a few settings. This triggered my thinking - 'why don't I learn how to use my camera beyond automatic mode?' I enjoyed the course and would recommend it. Daniel patiently answered all questions asked. When we ran a little over time he did not rush us. Rather he gave us the opportunity to learn about the function of ISO while trying to capture the sunset. I also enjoyed seeing the street art. I look forward to continuing to practice my newly developed manual mode skills :)
