Setting up a Worm Farm @ Edendale

Turning kitchen scraps into worm castings

Next Available: Sat, 12 Oct 2:00PM (AEDT)
1 hour 30 minutes
Over 100 people have attended this class

Description

A worm farm is one of the best ways to dispose of food scraps and produce vermi-juice (worm tea) and vermicast (worm castings) for use on the garden.

Learn how to set up a worm farm and hear about the easiest methods to manage and care for these hard-working creatures.

This one and a half hour face to face workshop @ Edendale will cover both the theory and practice of worm farming in a household setting. It will be useful for those wanting to recycle household food waste in order to produce worm products for use in the improvement of soil in gardens and pot plants.

Notes:

  • This workshop is held indoors, if the weather is fine you will venture out to view the worm farms on site. So please wear a hat and sunscreen as well as outdoor footwear.
  • This is an adult-focused learning experience and not suited to young children.
  • Discounted worm farms will be available for sale on the day

We aim to ensure that people have equal access to our workshops. Please contact Edendale on 9433 3711 to discuss how we can make these sessions inclusive and accessible for you.
