Description

Sourdough bread is a life force! It is born out of live bacteria and the environment in which it lives. At infinity bakery we have been making and creating sourdough since the 90’s. Our passion is simple, great baked goods with a focus on sourdough. We would like to invite you into our world and teach you a little more about what makes great sourdough and hopefully plant a seed of passion within you.

At this course you will be shown the basics of how to create and maintain a sourdough starter. You will get a feel for dough development through hand mixing and moulding. And finally seeing the loaf through to the baked stage.

The course focuses on what you can expect to achieve at home, to create your perfect loaf. We will give you the tools to start and the opportunity to ask all the questions you need to get your first loaf to the oven at home.

About Will Petersen from Infinity Bakery

The co-owner of Infinity Bakery, William Petersen, will be taking the course for the day. Day to day he helps run Infinity Bakery and as a side project bakes his own loaves that are a little outside what they do currently at Infinity.

Having spent time training in a variety of different bread worlds, from a handmade wood-fired oven at the back of a sports club to an esteemed Sourdough Baking Institute in San Francisco, he brings a relaxed creative edge to the bakers bench. He is constantly trying to push the passion all the way through Infinity Bakery, striving for a better version of what they are already doing – bread!

The whole experience from start to finish was fantastic. We learnt how to make starters, and the entire process of sourdough making/baking including cutting and shaping. Will and his assistant were so informative and fun. The bonus drinks and pizza were also great. Amazing experience! Would highly recommend

Had a fantastic time learning about making sourdough and starter with all questions and queries answered. Dinner and drinks provided which was unexpected and delicious!!! We shaped dough, cooked our own loaf of bread and tasted different types of breads. It was a fantastic experience at Infinity Bakery on Oxford St and I would highly recommend it!
