Creating Lily, an ak Felt Doll for Children

Discovering the Joy of Creativity

Description

It's school holidays again - the perfect opportunity to learn a new skill and have some creative fun.

We've been teaching children to sew, knit and felt for more than 20 years and our handmade Felt Dolls continue to be the most popular project by far.  In this set of workshops you'll learn all about working with wool felt, basic sewing and embroidery stitches and you will leave with a charming felt doll of your own.  The workshop includes all a complete project kit, ak's Felt  Dolls and Accessories Book and a copy of the companion book, Felt Flower Fairies, a felt needle case, and generous use of all our house 'stash'.

In this small, friendly class my aim is to foster and encourage creativity, build the foundations for lifelong love of making as well as teaching handwork skills.  There is no time pressure and the atmosphere is non-competitive - everyone learns and works at the own rate.

A range of kits are available and clothes can be personalised.

Check out ak's website to see more images and information about Lily, our 26cm doll.

ak traditions

Vendor since 2021

Tradition evolves ... and the ak traditions story has certainly evolved organically over the past two decades.  But throughout the journey, while the products have changed the focus has remained the same and continues to shape  everything I that design.   What began as a contemporary gallery showcasing decorative Central Asian textiles from Kyrgystan has grown to include traditionally inspired, artsan quality toys and collectibles, creative books and patterns, complete how-to kits, custom fabrics and knitting wools and importantly workshops ... all aimed at inspiring our customers and helping them to make own version of ak designs.

Colour, quality, finish and attention to detail and love have been a hallmark of everything we've done from our very first Mia finger puppet and continue to guide ak today.
