Attending a Class

To ensure that the class runs smoothly we ask that you arrive no later than 15 minutes before your scheduled class to register your attendance with our café team.

Please wear flat, non-slip shoes with closed toes and bring your apron. We suggest you wear comfortable clothing that will survive a coating of flour! As this is a hands on lesson, please do not wear jewellery on your wrists or fingers. Secure storage for jewellery will not be provided so we suggest you leave it at home. Long hair must to be tied back, hair nets will be available.

As well as the bread that you’ve baked, you’ll take home some shaped, unbaked loaves. For best baking results, these should be refrigerated within an hour of shaping. If your travel time home is more than an hour we suggest you bring an insulated bag or esky for cool storage.

Bourke Street Bakery

Vendor sincce 2016

Bourke Street Bakery began as a little corner store bakery cafe in the winter of 2004. Paul Allam and David McGuinness were bakers and chefs who shared a love of good food and an appreciation of all things hand made. They also shared a dream to open a little café bakery where everything would be made by hand with dedication and love. Over the years Bourke Street Bakery has grown into a Sydney institution, now with more hands still making and baking with dedication and love.

Bourke Street Bakery makes everything by hand with the best possible ingredients, from organic sourdoughs to pastries and cakes. A combination of great produce, artisanal skill and hard work creates the honest, soulful, delectable bites that Bourke Street Bakery has become famous for.

22 August 2017 • Italian Bread Master Class

Simple tips given that make all the difference. The pizza I made at home after attending the class looked and tasted like the real thing. The class atmosphere was congenial and helpful.. I did enjoy the overall experience and would recommend to others if they really wanted to improve their pizza making skills.
