The macaron is a sweet meringue-based confectionery made with egg whites, icing sugar, granulated sugar, almond powder or ground almond, and food colouring. The macaron is commonly filled with ganache, buttercream or jam filling sandwiched between two cookies.
Characterised by its smooth, squared top, ruffled circumference and flat base, it is mildly moist and easily melts in the mouth.

The Macaron class was the best! We made Salted Caramel macarons with a Dark Chocolate ganache -which were just divine! We got to take home SO many! Arno is such a great teacher and a master of his craft. He made the class fun and very informative. We got to use his actual kitchen and were given an insight into what it's like day to day which was an amazing experience! He has very fascinating stories about his life and how he got to where he is - so if you have a passion for chocolate or want to learn from the best, I can think of nobody better!
Great tip was to leave the egg in the fridge for 5 days has made a world of difference.
