The macaron is a sweet meringue-based confectionery made with egg whites, icing sugar, granulated sugar, almond powder or ground almond, and food colouring. The macaron is commonly filled with ganache, buttercream or jam filling sandwiched between two cookies.
Characterised by its smooth, squared top, ruffled circumference and flat base, it is mildly moist and easily melts in the mouth.

The Gânache Patisserie section showcases Arno’s superb macarons and delicious French style patisserie.
All chocolates and patisserie are created with passion by Master Chocolatier Arno Backes and his team of Pastry chefs and Chocolatiers, in the kitchens above the chocolate lounge in South Yarra.
Classes at Gânache frequently become fully booked, so we require full payment to be made at the time of booking to secure your place. Payment can be made conveniently online with credit card or at the store in cash, EFT or credit card or even via credit card over the phone. Unfortunately, we can't hold places without payment
On occasion, Gânache is forced to cancel a class due to low booking numbers. We really don't like to do this as we love to teach and play with chocolate, but if we don't cover our costs we can't run the class. In instances where Gânache must cancel a class, enrolled participants will be notified 24 hours prior to the scheduled class and will be rebooked into the next available class, or a refund as required.
Gânache Chocolate requires 48 hours notice via email prior to the start of a class or event for a full refund or transfer. Refunds and transfers will not be processed if cancellation occurs within 48 hours of the event commencing. We do not offer refunds for missed classes. There are no fees for refunds or transfers. Anyone partaking in any classes or coming to any events at Gânache Chocolate or organised by Gânache Chocolate must agree to these terms and conditions.
1.) LIABILITY WAIVER
I agree to take on full responsibility for any damages, injuries and for physical and/or personal property, which I might incur whilst participating in classes and/or events organised by Gânache Chocolate.
2.) PHOTO & VIDEO
I agree to give Gânache Chocolate unrestricted publishing rights for any photographs or videos taken at Gânache Chocolate classes and events or on Gânache Chocolate's premises. (For use of Gânache Chocolate marketing materials).
Gânache Chocolate requires 48 hours notice in writing prior to the class for a full refund or transfer.
In the event that a class is cancelled, students will be notified via text message or email and entitled to a full refund or credit.
