Weed Walks with Miranda
(Private Dates Available)
Description
The War On Weeds’ is a term we’re all accustomed to.
The much revered pictures of manicured lawns devoid of clover and the bright splashes of dandelion flowers.
Something that large poison companies would have us aspire to, to the detriment of our soil, our health and our planet’s health.
The humble dandelion, listed in top 10 lists worldwide as a superfood, we’re encouraged to wage war on their fuzzy hats of seedliness and encouraged to poison them without thought.
It’s part of a clever corporation fuelled disconnect, a disconnect that has inspired us to see plants as an unwanted enemy rather than an ally and an opportunity to harvest and relate.
We’ve decided to unpick the disconnect and encourage harvest.
Making the problem the solution is the way forward if we’re to break this spell of corporate, poison thuggery and so we’re thrilled to be opening the gates for a day of unlearning and relearning, reconnection, rewilding and honouring knowledge that’s long lost.
Join Miranda Mueller, co-author of Plants of Power for a walk and talk.
The Day will include a morning of easy plant identification, foraging and harvest.
Returning to home base with our foraged goods to prepare some easy home remedies and recipes with our harvest.
This will be a hands on fun way to learn all about what’s growing under your feet.
The peace on weeds is so much lovelier than the war!
