DEMONSTRATION WITH MARY REID FROM MERIVALE CAKES!

Mary has devised this fabulous demonstration class where she will demonstrate a  Half Naked Celebration Cake demonstration is as follows:
  • Even beginners can decorate the popular Half Naked Celebration Cake
  • Learn how to splice, level and crumb coat your cake
  • Learn how to use Bakels chocolate fondant and Bakels white truffle buttercream

Mary has 40+ years of experience and will be happy to answer your questions. The maximum number is 15 people for the demonstration.

Come along on your own and make some new friends, or make a group get-together.  Our classes are great fun in a friendly atmosphere in our beautiful historic building.

You may have noticed an across-the-board increase in our booking prices. This is because the booking fee, which was previously charged separately, is now included in the class price. Please note that bookings made in-store will be charged the original price (no fee included).

Sensible cooking clothes and fully closed shoes are essential. No thongs, open-toed shoes, sandals or high heels.

Sauce is a cooking school situated in the Beautiful Garden City "Toowoomba". Our beautiful heritage building has been lovingly renovated. Come and see how gorgeous it is.

There is also the connotation of saucey behaviour! Life has to be fun.

A sauce may only be as exciting and delectable as the chef that creates it. We were enthused by the passion and professionalism of the chefs we consulted. They helped refine the kitchen to make it a pleasurable space in which to teach and learn. Their passion for food and their ability to convey this as teachers is a great driving force behind the cooking classes.

Every effort has been extended to source stock to meet the needs of every cook and beyond.

Sauce is still a work in progress - with enthusiastic, knowledgeable and dedicated staff, we will continue to strive to meet your expectations and provide a complete source for all things kitchen.  The Sauce Cafe is up and running, so come and have morning or afternoon tea, or lunch, enjoy our kitchen space and our cooking classes!

Cancelation & Refund Policy

  1. Please choose your class carefully. We are not able to offer refunds.
  2. Full payment is required at the time of booking. If payment which has not been received within 5 days, your booking will lapse.
  3. We are unable to give a credit if you do not attend. However with at least two weeks notice, we can book you into another class but cannot refund. You may arrange another participant and notify us accordingly.
  4. Please make sure your gift voucher is current before you book, we are unable to accept out-of-date vouchers.
  5. The times of all classes may vary, please check each individual class.
  6. You will receive a recipe booklet, food tastings and the loan of an apron for the duration of the class.
  7. We reserve the right to substitute any part of the class, the chefs, ingredients and other issues that are beyond our control, although every attempt is made to provide the class as described.
  8. Customers will be notified of any cancellations, if insufficient numbers, at least 7 days before the class date. A refund or rescheduling will be available at that time.
  9. All classes are suitable for men and women and we offer special classes for children. Any child under 14 in the adult classes must be accompanied by a paying adult.
  10. The consumption of alcohol is not permitted before or during practical cooking classes.
  11. For the safety of the individual and others, persons deemed by our staff to be intoxicated will not be allowed to participate in a class.
  12. In classes there is a strict allowance of one glass of wine per participant, to be consumed as part of the sit-down meal at the conclusion of cooking.
  13. You will not be able to participate if you are wearing shorts, thongs, open-toed shoes, sandals or high heels. Fully closed shoes are essential.
  14. If you have individual dietary requirements please notify us to see if we can accommodate this within a specific class.
  15. You may want to bring a notebook and pen for taking down the secret chef's business.
