Description

Daisy Cooper’s hand built ceramic wares are reminiscent of times gone by - of a slower life where afternoons were spent meandering along the riverbank, gazing up at the native greenery, or of nights spent staring at the sparkly dust of the milky way.  After all, this is where Daisy gathers her inspiration for her much sought after range of hand made ceramics - growing up in rural Scotland, has kindly delivered such vivid memories, evident in her ‘river like’ glazes and speckly white plates seen the world over (Jamie Oliver has used Daisy’s work in his Food Revolution series - yes, Jamie Oliver!).

Daisy is a regualr at The Windsor Workshop (and almost every workshop sells out, so don't umm and aah!). You will be treated to a session of slow clay, hand building pieces from scratch.  You will be able to choose glazes from Daisy’s range - pieces will be fired and then returned to The Windsor Workshop for collection.

Great venue conveniently located near a train station. Relaxing sofa sitting area and very spacious working area. Daisy & staff are very helpful and friendly. A cheese platter, tarts and choices of refreshments make it 3 hours well spent.

I went along for a 3hr ceramics class. It was such a lovely morning/afternoon. I always find it a bit nerve-racking before a class like this - what are the facilitators going to be like? What will the class size be? What if I can't do it? Bree was such an awesome facilitator and Daisy was amazing at teaching the essential skills for beginners. Class size was about 12 people - which was a perfect size. And the space was quite large and super inviting! Looking forward to doing it again!

Daisy was a great teacher. She made it look so easy, maybe a bit too easy as I got over ambitious with my work and ended up panicking that I won’t finish anything. I did end up with two finished pieces and it was fun to try something new! Only „negative“ was that the tables weren’t sturdy enough for rolling out clay and the whole table was shaking which was a bit annoying but apart from that there wasn’t anything to complain about. I‘m already thinking of doing it again because now I need a mug to complete my set!
