Clay Therapy Session

Clay Therapy Session

Clay therapy focussing on the individuals needs

Clay Therapy is a specialised class focused on clay art therapy for the individual. Clay Talk is a studio dedicated to the teaching and sharing of knowledge about clay. Set in the serene and beautiful surrounds of Montsalvat, Clay Talk is the perfect place to offer clay art therapy.

Making art and craft with our hands has long proven to be beneficial to well-being, mental health, self-confidence, an antidote against depression, anxiety disorders and enhances cognitive function. Clay, one of the most ancient of materials, with it’s amazing plasticity, adaptability, and tactile qualities makes it the perfect material for art therapy.

Clay Therapy is run by an experienced and dedicated tutor who has a background in working with people with various needs and impairments. The fundamentals of art therapy lie in the spirit of generosity.

If you require a regular carer it is important that they accompany you to this class. If you have a companion animal, they may accompany you to this class however please note the animal must stay with you and your carer for the duration of the class. We do not allow animals to roam the property due to the birdlife at Montsalvat.

The focus of this class will be on hand building. While we would love to give you a go on the pottery wheel, the wheel does require good arm and hand ability and strong mental focus. If there is a desire and will to learn the pottery wheel  at Clay Talk will need to determine your suitability before proceeding. Whether on the pottery wheel or sitting/standing hand building with clay, there is something for everyone at Clay Talk.
