A Message from Jenie Yolland:
I will not run a class if I have had flu symptoms in the last 14 days, and will adhere to relevant Gov guidelines. The room will be ventilated as well as possible. Please let me know if you have attended ANY of the Covid hot spots or sites in the last 14 days and I will hold your spot for another workshop at a future date when you have a negative covid test. Only fully vaccinated people can book into my workshops in 2021. Thank you.

Drape your own piece of glass Level 2 workshop

Make a draped art glass vessel!

Next Available: Thu, 20 Jan 2:00PM (AEDT)
(+3 more dates)
3 hours

Description

Draping fun - a Level 2 workshop

Come back and make another piece of glass art. Now you've completed our Level 1 Plate making workshop, you can use your new-found fusing skills to create another beautiful piece of glass.

The 3 hours gives you time to brush up on your cutting skills and have some fun doing a drape.

Make it in the colour combination and design of your choosing. We usually create a piece that fits on a 30 x 30cm kiln shelf. We fuse it once, and when you are happy with it, we will drape it for you. It's so much fun and the results are stunning!

Everything is included!

All your glass, your tools and all firings.

So come and have some fun making your own sculptural piece like the ones in the images here.

This class is only for 2 people at a time, so you have plenty of room to move around the studio and to make your draped masterpiece with ease.

Our aim is that you'll build your base piece in the first 3 hour session. We'll fire it and we'll then cold work your drape so it can be fired again and draped for you.

You'll be surprised at how clever you are at making something wonderful! Progress pictures will be taken and emailed to you so you know what's happening step by step to your glass art!

During the workshop I'll take photographs of you for my social media, if you don't want this to happen just let me know.

Please wear clothes that includes some kind of sleeve (not a tank top). Please wear closed toe shoes. (No thongs, no sandals that expose your toes.) You need to be able to stand securely on both feet and climb one flight of stairs to the workshop.

Once the class is over and the clean up is done, all you need to do is wait for an email from me showing the progress of your amazing drape and I'll let you know when it is ready to be picked up. This usually happens within 2 weeks of the workshop.

Your creation will be kept here at the studio for 3 months after the workshop, they'll be donated to charity after that time.

If you'd like to bring alcoholic or other refreshments or nibbles to this workshop - that'll be fine, assuming you are over 18 years of age.

COVID NOTICE;

For the moment only with people who are fully vaccinated can attend my classes. (I have 2 family members who are in the "at risk" category) so please be aware of this before you book. I am fully vaccinated as of May 2021. We adhere to the Covid19 rules of the day. If you have been unwell, stay away.

PRIVATE WORKSHOPS

If you'd like to organize a workshop with more friends at your location or here at Swan Street Studios, please feel free to get in touch, it'll be easy and fun to arrange this with you. It's a great team building exercise and a fabulous way to catch up with family and friends

If you don't see a time and date that suits you here please email me and we will add a new date that suits you.

Just let me know.

I look forward to seeing you soon and introducing this amazing craft/art to you.

I’m like a kid in a lolly shop.  I am endlessly impressed and inspired – by the work of others, by colours and textures, by everything around me, man-made and natural!

There’s so much to see, to interpret into glass!

I love it all. I love sharing it with everyone – that’s why I run workshops – it makes me happy and its my hope that some of this joy spills over to you as well.

I love my job.

You too can create graphic Mondrian-inspired bowls and platters and feminist invoking “Break The Glass Ceiling” pendants, brooches and sometimes earrings in these workshops.  You can create an artwork for your walls in the fabulous Heart Art Class.

I love the clash of sometimes crazy and sometimes controlled geometry, that can see in my Paris Elegance series with its DNA centre design element. I suspect they indulge both the conservative and bold characteristics within.  These styles can be explored more in the Level 2 classes.

The relationship between the glass elements in each piece means no two pieces are exactly alike, much as no story is ever retold in exactly the same way, so is every piece of glass you create in a workshop. You can truly say, no-one else, anywhere, has one quite like it!  You'll also remember that giving a Gift Voucher is another uniuqe gift that expresses the value of your unique friendship.

Ultimately, I am sharing love. The love of life. Share it with me?

Refund Policy

If you book into an event and miss it, we can't reschedule or refund the tickets after the fact.

Our classes take careful planning, seats are limited and we cut the glass and prepare the studio based on the number of people.  I run a small business and my margins are very tight.

My standard class fees include a $40 non-refundable, non-transferable administration fee, which is forfeited if a student cancels their enrolment or transfers to another class session.  Students who cancel or transfer their enrollment six or more business days prior to the beginning of a class will receive a refund of the class fee, minus the $40 administration fee.  Cancellations or transfers made fewer than six business days prior to commencement of class will be refunded or transferred only if we are able to fill the student’s space (minus the $40 administration fee). No refunds or transfers will be granted once the class has started.

  •  If there is a last-minute change in plans (less than 12 hours' notice), then sorry you forfeit the ticket.
  • Alternatively you can send a friend along and they can use the ticket in your name.
  • From time to time we need to cancel an event, in this instance we will notify you by email and text your mobile as well.  We automatically transfer you into the next event, but you can request a alternative date, hopefully within the next 3 months.
