Thai cooking places emphasis on lightly prepared dishes with strong aromatic components. The spiciness of Thai cuisine is well known. It’s exotic flavours and fragrances make it among the most coveted of international cuisines. At its best, the flavours of sweet, sour, salty and tangy are balanced and when used cleverly, you feel your taste buds dance. However, whether it be juicy pieces of grilled pork on a stick or a fiery bowl of ‘Tom Yum’ soup, we all have to start somewhere.
Tracey’s is willing to share her family recipes for some of the most interesting Thai cuisine there is. The question is you game enough to learn??
All participants will be given the opportunity to prepare and cook.Participants will be provided with knife kits, and utilise commercial cooking equipment supplied by our venue.
The class is not a cooking course it is an informal session where we learn the basics and share our experiences. We are not professional chefs just home taught by our families and enjoy cooking and celebrating with food. Come for an afternoon / evening of fun, and celebration with food.
Our class of seven made about five dishes, all of which were delicious. We used fresh ingredients and I learned heaps, especially about the spicing and condiments, and cooking techniques. Lee was our instructor, and she has a wonderful Thai cooking background as well as serious chef credentials in the Thai restaurant field. Good facilities for cooking classes. My next stop will be an Asian supermarket to stock up on multiples of very small bottles of good fish sauce, and some other essentials.
