Class Schedule

  • SATURDAYS 10am-1pm
  • 5 Sessions: 30th September and 7th 14th 21st 28th October

  • MONDAYS 10am-1pm
  • 5 Sessions: 9th 16th 23rd 30th October and 6th November

Description

Join our jewellery making short course in the beautiful surrounds of the artist’s colony of Montsalvat in Melbourne, with master jeweller Jeanette Dyke and learn how to make your own jewellery in Jeanette's professional working studio.

The Course:

  • Learn everything you need to know in order to make your own jewellery
  • Learn how to make simple rings, pendants and earrrings
  • Ideal for complete beginners with no experience necessary
  • Upon completion students have the knowledge to continue to make basic jewellery pieces on their own
  • Working with copper and brass sheet and silver wire
  • Anyone who wants to work completely in silver, pleased discuss this with your teacher prior to class commencing as this can be organised for the additional cost of the silver
  • Opportunity to bring in your old silver or 18ct gold jewellery to melt down and use
  • Learn in a professional working studio in the beautiful surrounds of Montsalvat Arts Centre
  • Everything is supplied; machinery, metal, tools, blades, emery paper, biscuits, tea  and coffee, super views
  • Maximum of 5 students per class

  • Annealing

  • Piercing/cutting metal
  • Filing
  • Measuring and preparing quantities of materials
  • Forming metal
  • Working with gas torch and using safety pickle
  • Finishing techniques and polishing

Any cancellation notification is required to Jeanette Dyke at least 3 weeks in advance of the class start date.  In which case a refund can be given less the weteachme fee as that is not refundable.
