Connect with your inner creativity

Over 10 people have attended this class

Please bring any of your own photos, books, magazines and materials you may want to collage with! 3-d objects are also welcome - this is all about experimenting. Materials will be provided but it's always nice to re-purpose items around your home!

Did you know that tapping in to your creative energy can improve your overall health and well being?  It is well recognised that creative engagement can decrease anxiety, stress, and other mental health issues.  MakerSpace & co thinks that we all could do with a bit of a well being boost. We've all been affected by the what's been happening over the last two years; it's been tough.

This is why MakerSpace & co is introducing a series of creative workshops that focus on mindful making, artistic self expression and building social connections.  Think of it as a creative tonic to pick you up. Working with qualified art therapists, our Maker Therapy series is an opportunity for you to take a breath, practice some self care and get to meet other people in a safe and inclusive space.

Using big sheets of paper, and many different art materials, you will be led through multiple artistic processes to create, destroy, and create again.

Using art therapy techniques, this highly experimental workshop will show you how to gently let go of perfectionism, and how to reclaim your inner resilience in times of transformation and change. You will leave this workshop with an inner landscape collage, and creative tools for self-care to continue practicing on your own. No art making skills required, come as you are to explore and unleash your creativity!

This was a wonderful Sunday afternoon activity that I was able to enjoy with my 4 year old child. My girl is very timid and sensitive and the two ladies running the class met her exactly where she was. My girl even said to me as we drove home that the ladies were trying hard to make sure everyone felt comfortable with what they were doing. It was a beautiful, welcoming space and the resources were so accessible and inspiring. We took home many ideas and principles that we will incorporate into our home learning and creative expressions. So full of gratitude and sincere thanks. Lisa

Absolutely amazing session on the Saturday just gone. I attended by myself and was hesitant about coming along alone - but so glad I decided to! The activities where all so interesting and enjoyable, and definitely attributed to the therapeutic capacity of the session. The group leaders where individually so good and collectively ran a really great workshop. Very well structured and very satisfied with the end result.
