Do This to Beat the Monday Blues for Good

You'll wake up feeling motivated every single morning

Creativity 8 min read Aug 21, 2019

You know it’s going to be a good week when you’re up and about early on Monday morning, feeling like you can’t wait to get to work. But occasionally, there are those days that not even the best lasagna can fix.

Don’t we all wish that we could be double-espresso-pumped every single day, ready to smash through walls? The science says it’s possible, and it doesn’t even have to involve caffeine - unless you must, because 😊💗☕.

Off-Job Experiences Make You Better at Your Job

According to the research, taking the night off to do something completely unrelated to your job almost guarantees a Productive You the very next morning. But not just any random activity; the authors call it “off-job mastery”.

The study shows that taking in an experience - particularly one that leaves you feeling like an expert - can make all the difference in your productivity. Pick something you enjoy; it can be a sport or a favourite hobby or a new skill or even volunteer work. Just permit yourself to switch off and forget about the job for a minute.

When asked, the research participants said they found an increased sense of control and proactivity at work the next day. Interestingly, simply checking out doesn’t have the same effect. Meditating, listening to relaxing music, or movie bingeing, for example, can help with de-stressing but they don’t inspire the same kind of positivity as off-job mastery does.

// NEXT WORKSHOP // (June - see link in bio) ~~~ Earlier last month, I had the opportunity to showcase on Today Tonight Show what brush lettering is all about and how it helps you unwind and relax after a long, busy and stressful day of work or life hustles. This opportunity wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for @classbento. I have been working with ClassBento for quiet sometime now. Listing my workshops through their platform has never been easier and the help that I get from the guys is amazing. I also consider myself lucky that I got to work on their brand new logo ❤ ~~~~~~ If you are in need of a hobby that will help you to switch off from the busy and stressful lifestyle, give brush lettering a go. I promise to teach you the right technique that will not only help you create beautiful handmade cards/invitations, etc. but also help you relax on day to day basis. My next workshop is in June (as I am visiting family in Russia at the moment). ~~~ #lettering #brushlettering #letteringworkshop #calligraphy #typography #handlettering #sydney #sydneycreative #creative #creativecommunity #graphicdesigner #graphicdesign #artline #artlinestix #workshop #yamogulettering #icandolettering #icanbecreative #todaytonightshow #mindfulness #relax #yamogu #tvinterview
